*Was happy to hear Hogan loves him but doesn't get to enjoy it for 3 seconds before Hogan starts his foolish rant about wanting to die which makes him so angry that he doesn't know what to say and that he doesn't really listen when Hogan confesses again* *Still holds the scruffy 40 year old boy tightly in his arms as he thinks about a nice way to ask him if he's lost his mind* Mein lieber ... Robert....! *Presses through clenched teeth* *Places his hand on Hogan's cheek to make him look him in the eye* We are NOT involving Hochstetter in anything! And you are NOT going to do die!!! *Barely surpresses his anger* Do you understand?! *Sternly looks into Hogan's bloodshot eyes* You're going to calm down. Now! Then you'll eat. *Still stares Hogan down* No backtalk!
*Gets up and goes to the door* *Sticks his head out and barks* Cockroach! Get me some food for the Colonel! *Pauses then adds* Something that is light on the stomach *Slams the door shut and turns to Hogan* Get up and sit at the table. *orders and holds his hand out to Hogan to help him up*

*is startled at how Klink went from concerned to angry out of nowhere* “Ye, yes. I understand.” *is in no shape to protest* *or question when and how Klink grew a backbone* *or learned how to sound like, as Schultz would put it, “a real officer.”* *takes Klink’s hand and stands, his legs a bit wobbly after being in bed for most of those two days* *sits at the table* *takes deep breaths until he composes himself* *looks into Klink’s eyes* “I feel like you’re mad at me right now. If you are, why? Did I offend you again?” *sad tone* “Seems like that’s the only thing I’ve been doing lately.”

Ach du liebes Lieschen, Hogan... *Sighs and half sits on the table next to Hogan* *The anger subsided when Hogan followed his orders and calmed down a little* *Lifts Hogan's chin to look at him* *Caresses his scruffy cheek gently* I'm not.... *Sighs* I... Am upset because i worry about you *His hand is still on Hogan's cheek* Wanting to die! What has gotten into you Robert?! *Exasperated, the concept of suicide is completely foreign to him* And because of me ... Of all things...? *Murmurs shaking his head in disbelief* *Looks into Hogan's eyes again* *It knocks and LeBeau enters with another bowl of soup* *Pulls his hand back from Hogan as if he had burned himself and moves to take the soup from LeBeau*
LeBeau: Monsieur le Commandant? I warmed this up from dinner... *Lets Klink take the soup from him and gives Hogan a long curious look before Klink ushers him out again*
Klink: *Tries to block LeBeaus view and pushes him out again* *Shuts the door with his elbow and sets the soup in front of Hogan then takes off his coat and throws it on the bed* *leans on the desk again* Eat! You can't starve yourself like that. *Gives Hogan a stern look that won't tolerate protest*
-in the main room-
LeBeau: *Everyone looks at him expectantly* *Shrugs* Seems like the Kommandant got him out of bed... Maybe he can make the Colonel eat something.
Kinch: *Worriedly looks at the office door* Lets hope the bald eagle gets him back on track...

-In Hogan's room-
*leans into the touch, clearly finding comfort in it* "Nothing. Everything. I...I don't even know where to begin." *sighs* "Guess I should start by asking if you heard anything I said after that point." *refuses to meet LeBeau’s gaze* "I wasn’t doing it on purpose..." *trails off and takes a bite of his soup* "This is delicious." *quickly downs about half the bowl before abruptly stopping* *pushes the bowl toward Klink, even though his stomach is still growling* "Here, I wanna make sure you have something to eat as well."

*is touched by Hogan's sweetness but pushes the bowl right back to him* I just had dinner *Even though he hasn't actually touched it* Eat up. Then you're going to rest and then tomorrow we can talk... *He heard Hogan's first question but is ignoring it on purpose as he has no idea what to answer* *Is lost in thought as he watches Hogan wolf down the soup* *Of course Hogan wants to hear him say that he loves him, too... But would it be right to say that just to appease him?* *It's all happening too fast* *And while Klink has had some kind of crush on Hogan for a while and the odd sexual fantasy involving his senior POW he has never actually properly thought about it all* *It was toooo unlikely* *Nothing but a fantasy* *He doesn't know what his real feelings for Hogan are except that it was amazing to have sex with him for real* I'll ask the little frenchman for another bowl... *Gets up from where he sat on the edge of the table and tells LeBeau to bring in another portion of soup then returns to his spot*

"Well...okay, if you say so." *wonders why Klink is dodging his question but doesn’t push it* *wonders what's on his mind* *eyes Klink’s slightly haggard appearance* *eagerly polishes off the soup while hatching a plan he prays will go over well* *starts to get up to go find LeBeau and ask if he can have some more *sits right back down when Klink does it for him* *is not used to being taken care of but still appreciates it* *wants to take care of Klink too, even though he should be worried about himself* *because that's the kind of person he is* *is tired and doesn't object to resting* *hesitantly* "Would...would it be alright if we talked in your quarters tomorrow?"

*takes the second bowl from LeBeau when it knocks on the door* *sets it in front of Hogan* *gives Hogan a raised eyebrow* Of course, I'd much rather talk to you there than here *eyes the door suspiciously* But you should come in through the office, I don't want to raise anymore suspicions *sighs*

*meets Klink’s gaze with a neutral expression* "Yeah, you're right. I can do that." *quickly wolfs down his soup* *leans back in his chair and groans* "Shit, I shouldn't have eaten so fast...or so much. Now my head and my stomach hurt!" *rubs his forehead* "Do you see my bottle of aspirin anywhere? I've got a killer migraine."

*does as he's told for once* *puts a hand over his eyes* "On the shelf in my stand-up locker, the one I keep my bomber jacket in." *yawns* "I'll be perfectly fine as soon as this headache goes away, though. Really. There’s -" *is interrupted by another yawn* "- no reason we can't talk for a little while." *pouts a bit*

*goes to the locker and gets the meds while shaking his head over the overgrown boy that is his senior POW* *sits on the bedside and hands Hogan the bottle and the cup of water* *waits until he has taken the aspirin then puts them back into the locker* *pours another cup for Hogan and sets it next to the bed on the floor* *strokes over Hogan's hair once even though he didn't plan to do that* *gets up* I'll see you after rollcall *goes to the door then turns again because something came to his mind* *frowns at Hogan* And Hogan... shaved and proper, am I understood? I won't tolerate sloppyness at roll call! *turns off the light and leaves*

*swallows the aspirin down with the water Klink gave him*
*lips curl upwards into a slight smile when Klink strokes his hair* "Ich verstehen, mein Kommandant. Gute Nacht."
-The next day-
*shaves* *has burned the letter he wrote to Kinch so nobody can ever find it* *also apologized to his men for being grouchy and treating them so shabbily* *was vague on purpose about his bad news, which is perfectly normal for him because he always plays things close to the chest* *but stated the reason Klink was able to help him is because he's an officer too and has been through some rough patches himself* *added that he intends to see if Klink will be able to beat him in 2 out of 3 chess games in the evening now that the inspector issue is dealt with* *thankfully his men seem to believe everything he's saying* *attends all roll calls* *asks Schultz to pass along a message for Klink after the morning one* *message says he wants to play a few chess games that evening but needs time to prepare his mind* *also asks Schultz a few important questions to gather information* *spends the day alternating between catching up on POW paperwork and getting assistance carrying out his plan* *goes into his barracks for a few minutes after the last roll call* *grabs two things* *heads into Klink’s office* *knocks on the door to his private quarters*

*was disappointed when schultz brought him the news, that Hogan would see him in the evening* *he had hoped that he'd get that over with sooner as it is hard to concentrate with everything that happened in the past days* *when he went to see Hogan yesterday he was able to put his own concerns aside because Hogan had needed help but he will have to do sth about it at some point* *he needs to make a decision on what to do with the knowledge he now has. About Hogan's operation and Hogan's feelings.* *then again he's happy that he doesn't have to face Hogan so soon as he still loathes his own foolishness* *how could he not have seen what was going on...? *has spent all day with rotating thoughts like that without reaching any conclusion on anything at all*
*hasn't eaten much of his dinner again and now just sits on the sofa waiting for Hogan without knowing what on earth he should say to him* *hears the knock* come in!

*sets down his two items so he can open the door* *steps inside* *turns around* *bends down to grab said items* *kicks the door shut with his foot* *smiles* "Finally! I've been waiting all day to see you. Very impatiently, I might add." *walks over to the couch* *sets down the items down on the coffee table* "Thank God for LeBeau...I would've never been able to do this otherwise." *uncovers the trays to reveal an apple crumb cake and some saurbraten* "I've never cooked anything before. But Schultz said you really like this stuff, so I...I made it for you. Well, us." *sounds unsure of himself* "I was hoping we could share it. You did once say that crumb cake was one of your favorite desserts."

*is very nervous as Hogan enters and seems so excited* *Tries to smile at him and not show it* *Is surprised at the food and looks at Hogan with wide eyes* *The cake makes him smile for real* Ooohh apple crumb cake! How sweet of you! *The nervosity returns as he thinks how nice Hogan is* I'll fetch the cutlery *Quickly gets up and goes to the kitchen to not let Hogan see his turmoil*

*heart races up when he sees Klink’s smile* *it speeds up after the smile gets wider* *has rarely seen Klink get so excited about anything* *and it makes him grin* "You're very welcome...and I'm gonna assume that's a yes then." *was not sure how this was going to go over* *but is relieved Klink didn’t get mad* *or worse, throw the food at him* *checks Klink out while he's walking to the kitchen* "I've never had this before. But according to Schultz, it's good. He seems to like weinerschnitzel a lot more, though." *imitates Schultz's voice and accent* "Ach du lieber, Colonel Hogan, you must try the weinerschnitzel while you are here. Oh, it is verrry tast-ty!"

*rolls his eyes at Hogan's imitation of Schultz. The Feldwebel is the last thing he wants to think about now ...* *Rummages in the cutlery drawer longer than he has to thinking about how he's gonna stomach a meal like that with his recent lack of appetite* *Finally returns to the sofa* Sauerbraten is indeed very good. One of my favourite dishes also. I really enjoy the taste of clove in the Marinade and the Lebkuchen-sauce.... *Feels his stomach grumble thinking of his grandmother's sauerbraten. So it is this easy to overcome a lack of appetite...?* *Smiles at his own thoughts and feels a bit more relaxed now* *Gives Hogan a mischievous look* So the frenchman claims to know how to make Sauerbraten? I hope he didn't use a too traditional recipe... I've heard one of farmer Wagner's plow horses died recently... *Gives Hogan a challenging grin*

"That sounds like a delicious mix to me. Usually I prefer garlic - my grandpa is a first-generation Italian immigrant - but I'm open to trying new things." *wonders why Klink is giving him that look* "He said this was a traditional recipe, but that I might not -" *cuts himself off" *eyes go wide* *voice pitches upwards on the last two words* "A dead horse? I cooked something made from a dead horse?" *looks queasy* "Ew..."

*chuckles at Hogan* you will have to ask the Frenchman what he used as meat *snickers some more* *takes a bite and relishes it* *enjoys Hogan's look of disgust* though Sauerbraten is usually made from meat-bred beef today it originates in times of less abundancy *takes another bite* the sour part of Sauerbraten was due to the fact that the meat of plow horses and old milk cows would be rather chewy *takes another bite* this is not bad by the way the acid in the vinegar marinade softens the meat *does his best to not show his amusement and to ruin the dish for Hogan with a sincere face* it's basically pre-digested for your pleasure!

*shakes his head* "I don't think I wanna know. That is too much information for my liking. Glad you like it, though." *makes a face* "Wilhelm, please. Don't tell me anymore! You're gonna make me sick." *eyeballs the food* "Although this would definitely be considered something new, so..." *swallows hard* "Well, here goes nothing, I guess." *squeezes his eyes shut* *takes a big bite* *opens his eyes* *looks and sounds suprised* "Hey, this isn't bad!"
